24.03.11 |  Fuel Tank and Pipe Completes Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion Facility for Downer EDI Mining/Downer Blast Services
Fuel Tank and Pipe are pleased to announce the completion of a 140kL Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion Storage and Distribution Facility at Fortescue Metal’s “Christmas Creek Mine Site” on time and on budget.

“This was a well executed project that extended our capability from Bulk Fuel to AN Emulsion”, Mick Turner, FTP Site Supervisor, commented. “The working conditions are seldom optimal on site, and yet we delivered to scope and on budget despite losing 2 weeks due to bad weather

” Kevin Ho, Project Manager from Downer EDI Mining, expressed his gratitude on the success of the project, “… we would like to express our appreciation of the effort that FT&P has contributed to the construction of the AN facility. Although we have had bad weather and some design changes, we managed to complete the installation and commissioned on time. All of the works were executed in a safe & professional manner. The crew on site was cooperative & good to work with.”

This job is just one of a number of Ammonium Nitrate related projects that Fuel Tank and Pipe have won, and will form the basis of the development of a core group of design and construction engineers focusing their effort in this space.
