FTP won the February Sino Iron Contractor of the Month Award: Safety for our proactive management towards working in confined spaces and heat stress during the construction of the CPM 4.8ML Bulk Fuel Farm. Prior to closing our tanks at Cape Preston FTP carried out a trial evacuation with involvement from the CPM onsite Emergency Response Group. FTP’s heat stress management program involved a buddy system to ensure enough fluids are being consumed, regular enforced drink and rest breaks, regular temperature monitoring and the use of ice vest and hats. Our proactive approach to safety and commitment from all the FTP team on site ensured we had no incidents or lost time during the high risk confined space work on the tank construction.
